India spearhead Jasprit Bumrah struck an early blow before England’s Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope led the tourists’ recovery during the first Test at Headingley yesterday.

At stumps on the second day, England were 107-2 in reply to India’s first innings 514, a deficit of 365 runs.

Duckett, dropped on 15, was 53 not out and Pope unbeaten on 37.
