The Ministry of Interior (MOI) yesterday evening activated national emergency response protocols and issued a public safety advisory urging citizens and residents to follow official guidance amid ongoing regional security developments.
Authorities reactivated the emergency operations plan and confirmed that the National Emergency Centre, civil defence units, and relevant government agencies are operating in coordination to respond to any potential threat.
The MOI also advised the public to rely solely on information from official sources and refrain from sharing unverified news or rumours that could cause panic.
Traffic alert
As part of precautionary measures, the MOI has called for limited use of main roads and highways to facilitate the movement of emergency and security vehicles, including ambulances, fire trucks, and police patrols.
Citizens and residents were urged to avoid non-essential travel on major routes and to cooperate fully with authorities during this period of heightened readiness.
The ministry emphasised that these steps were being taken to ensure swift and effective response capabilities while safeguarding public safety.
